I just saw an interesting photo from the “Crossroads” cover story of March 25, 2010. Students found beauty in recycling, turning discarded items into works of art. They created with Baltimore artist Tamara Payne, at the Wilmington Montessori School for two weeks as an artist-in-residence. The photo of a broken glass mosaic immediately caught my eye with the inside story. My oldest brother Walt was an Art major, and later graduated with a degree in Art Education from Rowan University. He had made a similar piece of artwork using blue glass on a white background. I will have to find a photo of that ┬ábeautiful design. Something about mosaics have always fascinated me. My second son James is talking about switching his major to Art after this semester. Looking forward to seeing his creative efforts. Will recycled art gain prominence in the future? Time will tell, or Tim will tell you later
