President Visits Afghanistan

by tolinda on March 28, 2010

Just noticed that President Obama made a surprise visit to the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. He is speaking to a large assembly of troops from the various services represented there in country. A friend of mine from college is serving as a leader at that very large base on the other side of the world.

Do you think we will ever see a time when American forces are not serving on foreign soil in the near future? That almost doesn’t seem possible since the buildup of our military around the world following World War II. I believe a flash point of conflict in the near future will be in or near the country of Israel, a key area in the Middle East. Time will tell what will happen there. George posted this photo on Facebook after speaking briefly with President Obama at Bagram Air Base.

Mr. Olinda,

I love this article. I think it is so sweet how President Obama went to Afghanistan.

Can we ever do anything else on the Internet besides visiting the website? (What kinds of Internet activities are you interested in, David?)
