I still have my Bible Doctrines verses on a ring--for ease of carrying and studying. I found them the other day when I was cleaning out some old files. It seems to me that memorization (of anything) is being downplayed today. Some argue that since it's so easy to look things up online, why memorize? And others argue that "rote memorization" isn't true learning. I tend to disagree with both those arguments. I definitely think memorizing (poems, scripture, phone numbers, whatever) is a good thing. The one thing I'm finding myself really bad about these days is remembering phone numbers. I don't know anyone's number anymore! If I lost my phone, I'd be in big trouble!
